[gn_dropcap style=”1″ size=”4″]T[/gn_dropcap]here are two goals for everyone who participates in Set Free to Live: The 50-Day Journey to Freedom. The first goal is that you will personally experience and know the freedom and joy of a steward of God who has been set free to live for him. The key word in this goal is freedom. This is a twofold freedom. It is a freedom from all of the chains that we put on ourselves. No one else puts these chains on us, we wrap them around ourselves and secure them tightly every time we listen to the enemy and believe the lies that we are being told every day.

By naming these lies, claiming the victory we have in Jesus Christ, and being willing to change our attitudes and habits, we will feel the freedom of these chains falling from our shoulders. There is also a freedom for the work God created us to do. This is our opportunity to engage in the calling and vocation that God prepared for us before he knit us together in our mother’s womb. That’s a pretty incredible thought. Our freedom is not only a looking behind us to the chains that have fallen, but it is looking ahead of us to the new life we can now live as people set free by the power of the Holy Spirit.

This new life includes the opportunity to be used by God to set other people free. That is the second goal for this journey. God not only sets us free, he sends us out in his name to be witnesses to this newfound freedom. We have the opportunity to be used by God to see the chains fall in the lives of everyone we touch.

May these be your two goals as you begin this journey; your own freedom from the old chains that bound you and freedom for the new life ahead as a child of God set free, and the opportunity to bear witness to that freedom and be used by God to touch the lives of everyone around you.

Format of Study

Each group of trekkers will start by reading The Seventh Key. They will then gather over eight weekly sessions to watch the videos, follow the study guide, engage in the discussion questions, and read the meditations each day during the week between sessions. Throughout the journey they will develop their own, personal Steward of Life Plan. In the eighth session, participants will share from their Steward of Life Plan and together the group will pray for and support each person in the commitments they have made. This will also allow for accountability following the journey.

My prayer is that the combination of the book, the videos, the group dialogue and prayer time, the meditations and the Steward of Life plan can be used by God to bring life changing transformation into the lives of his people. This whole study is deigned to help God’s people claim the promise, “when the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed!”
